Background of the Study
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are crucial to economic development in Kaduna State, creating jobs and contributing to local and national economies. However, one of the major challenges SMEs face is accessing credit from financial institutions. Lenders often cite poor financial reporting and a lack of transparency as reasons for denying loans to SMEs. This study will investigate the role of financial reporting in improving credit accessibility for SMEs in Kaduna State and assess how financial statements can influence lending decisions.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the importance of SMEs in Kaduna State’s economy, many of these businesses struggle to access credit from banks and other financial institutions.
